About This Workshop
Building with your hands changes what gets said in the room.
LEGO® Serious Play® is a facilitation methodology used by organisations worldwide to tackle complex challenges, surface hidden assumptions and unlock creativity in groups that might otherwise default to safe, surface-level conversations.
The process is deceptively simple: participants build physical models using LEGO bricks to represent their ideas, challenges and visions — then explain the meaning behind what they’ve built. The act of building with your hands bypasses the usual filters that shut down honest dialogue in group settings. Quieter voices are heard. Unexpected perspectives surface. Teams leave with shared understanding they couldn’t have reached through a PowerPoint discussion.
Best Used For
Six situations where LSP makes the difference

Future-state exploration and long-range planning conversations
Culture & values
Conversations that need more than words to land properly
Team identity & purpose
Especially powerful for new or recently restructured teams
Complex problem-solving
Where conventional approaches have stalled or hit a ceiling
Leadership development
Self-awareness sessions that go deeper than a workshop debrief
Cross-functional teams
Breaking down communication barriers across silos and functions
How it works
Build. Explain. Reflect.
Challenge
The facilitator poses a carefully designed question or a building challenge to the participants.
Build
Participants build a physical LEGO model in response to the challenge. No artistic skill required.
Share
Each person shares the meaning behind what they’ve built. The model acts as a thinking tool - it holds the idea so the room can explore it together.
Reflect
The group reflects on what emerged. Shared meaning is created. Assumptions surface. The conversation goes places a slide deck never could.
What Participants Leave With
Six things that change
after the session
01
Shared understanding
Teams leave aligned on meaning - not just on what was said, but on what it actually means to them.
02
Every voice in the room
The build-and-share structure ensures quieter participants contribute as fully as the loudest voices.
03
Surfaced assumptions
Hidden beliefs, blockers, and mental models become visible and discussable through the models people build.
04
Fresh thinking on stuck problems
The physical act of building breaks habitual thinking patterns and opens genuinely new directions.
05
A documented output
Photographs of models and facilitator synthesis give the team a tangible record of what was created.
06
Energy and engagement
Participants consistently report higher energy and engagement than conventional workshop formats.
“The hands-on Lego approach made the session highly engaging and intuitive, while still delivering powerful messages. The facilitation was engaging, supportive, and well-paced, making complex ideas easy to grasp.”
